Cheyenne & Adam

"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same," Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte

These two.  These two make me smile so much.  It was all I could do not to send them each photo as I finished them, one by one.  Every time I finished an edit, I was so excited I would show them to whoever was near me (usually my husband who has seen each of these multiple times and watched me giggle with joy over every single one).  During their session, they laughed and joked with each other the whole time.  Even though they were nervous and the weather wasn't ideal, they brought out the best in each other and had so much fun just being together.  It is a joy just to be near this wonderful couple.  When the forecast called for rain, they were up for a romantic session under umbrellas.  It rained all day, all the way to the venue, and stopped minutes before we arrived, leaving everything damp and very very cold.  These two were total bosses and were ready to roll with whatever came their way, which turned out to be the best lighting you can imagine.  Each of their photos make my heart melt every time I look at them.

Let me get personal for a second.  I had such big plans for this year: growth for my business, a promotion in my part-time day job, buying our first home, replacing my car that is falling apart, starting a blog, the list goes on.  None of those things have happened yet, even though we made huge steps towards them, and this is my fist blog post.  This season of life has been frustrating, difficult, and at times despairing. I've watched several dreams be set up for success and then wrecked.  All in three months.  This session has been such an inspiration and joy for me.  In all of the struggle, I've been given time (and a gorgeous couple) to pursue my love of photography.  In all of the frustration, I've been able to come back to these photos and see what passion and joy I have for this.  Even the best laid plans go awry.  Maybe that's because there's something better than what we plan.  This session shows that.  We planned for a sunny afternoon, and got the most wonderful grey day.

Cheyenne & Adam, y'all are my favorite.  Thanks for being beautiful people inside and out, and for helping me find the beauty in the brokenness.  What a wonderful way to start 2015.
